Siemens RFID Tags RF620T and RF640T: "When the RFID raises the taboos"

The radio frequency identification (RFID), advanced technology of traceability, is from now on at the center of the topicality and, in many cases, by its many assets, logistically impossible to circumvent.
However, one knows the debate which opposes the defenders and the detractors of the RFID; criticisms formulated are mainly related to its effectiveness in certain environments (metal proximity, of liquids, detergents...).
From now on, with SIMATIC RF620T and the SIMATIC RF640T, Siemens raises the taboos surrounding the use of radio frequency tags on metal supports and/or in hard industrial conditions.
Rewriteable transponder SIMATIC RF640T is a small extremely robust electronic label. Having to be gone up directly on metal (management of tools, vats, latticed cases and metal devices...), it contains up to 216 bytes of useful data, can be used between -25° C and +85° C (until 130° C in operation) and is characterized by a high resistance with oils, products of lubrication and cleaning. Its typical range is 2m.
The tag for containers SIMATIC RF620T is characterized by its capacity withbeing used under hard industrial conditions (robust plastic and high strength to the cleaning products).
This passive device and without maintenance rests on UHF Class1 Gen2 technology for the recording of the Electronic Product Code (EPC) on 96 bit.
It can be affixed on the plastics, wood, glass (i.e. containers, pallets, barrels, carriages...) or even used in food industry (plastics).
It can also, used with a spacer, being fixed on metal support or ESD. It thus aims primarily the identification and the traceability of products and goods in the fields of logistics (distribution, warehouse) and of transports.
