EAN128, a barcode as a logistic unit for boxes and pallets
Priority to GS1 standards: EAN128 is the only barcode to be used when complementary datas (lot number, date, quantity…) have to be added to identification ones.
EAN128 symbolization is very flexible; it allows to present datas of variable lenght and to combine many data zones in a single barcode, each being always preceeded by a prefix, - the Application Identifier – which identifies them in a unique way.
It’s conceived to be read in a bidirectional way by fixed or portable scanners.
