up-trace Case study: installation of a pallet labelling solution

APL8000Combining the most advanced technology of the label applicator APL8000 and its interfacing with the company’s ERP, this solution allows to print and apply 2 labels on each pallet on the basis of SSCC GS1 standard and this, with an extreme reliability.

In a first step, the solution was simply piloted by a preexisting label edition software, which received variable datas from SAP. Following the second step, the solution piloted by our middleware UP trace Suite Enterprise is able to dialogue on the one hand with the packing line in order to get a fully automatic system, and on the other hand with ERP SAP, through webservices, for the label’s variables and layouts.

up-trace Save time and money by combining barcodes and RFID

It’s more and more frequent to combine barcode and RFID reading in the internal transport systems. The new Sick CLV6xx barcode readers range and the new RFID Sick RFH620 readers present effectively the same connection, cabling, programming and network integration characteristics. This allows to associate them without any limits.

Use example

Classically, the barcode of the entering goods (piled boxes, for example) is scanned. These are next transported to a stocking zone through a closed circle of internal transport (ex.: on a pallet). The information of the read barcode can be saved on a RFID tag on the pallet. Since then, it becomes possible to organize traceability with the tags instead of the barcodes.

CLV

RFID tags can contain informations, what’s not the case of the barcode. This possibility has the great advantage to allow tags to play an active and dynamic role in traceability.
By that way, RFID technology combines wonderfully with barcode reading.
As a result? An enormous time and costs saving!

Your advantages:

  • easy to program:
    a unique SOPAS platform
  • easy to connect:
the same connexion boxes are available for barcode readers and RFID readers and hand-scanners.
